A Message From Our Sales Manager, James…

“Nationwide Energy Spring Energy Update: A Season of Optimism and Lower Demand…

As we welcome the spring season, there are many reasons for optimism in the energy sector. The stabilisation of prices, driven by a mild winter, has been a significant factor in this positive outlook.

One of the most notable developments has been the drop in demand for electricity. According to the Drax Electric Insights report, 2023 saw the lowest electricity demand since 1987. This decrease in demand is largely attributed to milder weather and the significant price increases in 2022, which have led many consumers to find ways to reduce their energy usage.

We are always looking to improve our great customer service and have 4 new starters coming on board in our service team in April, so remember if you have any billing or contract question please call or email us.

As we move into the warmer weather you may be looking at ways to enhance your efficiency of service in your outside spaces, Nationwide Energy work with a number of EPOS and payment service providers that can enhance your pay at table, integrated ordering and kitchen management solutions. please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Wishing everyone a Happy Easter and a great seasonal trade

Your March Energy Update…

Despite ongoing market volatility over the last few weeks, the fundamentals remain positive and we would expect further modest declines in prices. Recent movements up and down are understandable given how far prices have fallen over winter.

As we have seen over the last few weeks prices can rise as well as fall. We also need to bear in mind that further cost reductions are likely to be fairly modest so customers can’t expect prices to be much lower than they are currently, or perhaps were a week or two ago.

The situation for renewal customers remains positive, with many looking at 30%+ reductions on their current costs. Similarly, new businesses are getting much lower prices than were available over the last 2 years. Customers are better served by a one or two-year contract so that they can benefit from future cost reductions. There are still suppliers who impose additional conditions on pubs and those who offer long contracts of up to 5 years, which appears more in the supplier’s interests than the customers.

Nationwide Energy’s field consultants and renewals advisors can provide customer-focused advice, a market review, and updates on available prices. Any customers struggling to pay current rates or who are at risk of default can contact our Billing Team for support and advice on their options.

Gerry’s presentation focused on the positive news of falling energy costs and highlighted various ways to further reduce energy expenses for pub partners like yourself.

It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with those in the hospitality sector.
