Welcome to your March Newsletter.
March has been incredibly busy for the team at Nationwide Energy. We spent two days at the fantastic Northern Restaurant & Bar exhibition in Manchester, meeting with a number of operators who were looking for advice on their energy bills.
When it comes to utilities, commodity costs have been on a downward trend, this is due to a mild winter, and the political world stabilising. However it is significant to note that the EBRS government help scheme is coming to an end on 31st March which has been causing worry and stress for a number of operators. But this hasn’t slowed down the number of change of tenancies taking place, with new operators taking on pubs across the country.
Finally, the launch of our new communications system Daisy has been a huge success with our customers. Particularly due to the changes which are being rolled out from the end of 2023 through to 2025. The UK government has stated that by 2025 all telephone landlines will need to be digital, (PSTN) switch off service in 2025) and as a start of this process from later in 2023, you will no longer be able to change to a traditional copper line. Older phones or routers may need to be replaced ahead of this change, so it’s worth talking to us as soon as possible to make sure that your business is not cut off inadvertently.
Like many UK wide projects leaving it towards the end, as many will, could lead to reduced availability and back logs to have your line upgraded.
