Lancaster Arms Case Study

In 2022, due to the energy crisis, I agreed a contract with E.ON Next on high rates. There was a problem with E.ON Next billing me and I was shocked to receive a bill for almost £50,000, I tried to speak to them but felt like I was talking to a brick wall.
I contacted Nationwide Energy Consultants and Nicole was appointed as my advisor. On looking into my account, she found that E.ON Next were using the wrong start reading and if corrected this would cause a huge decrease in the balance.
After a lot of back and forth, there was a complaint raised with E.ON Next who were adamant that their bill was correct, and wouldn’t amend it. The complaint was then deadlocked, and Nicole took this to the Energy Ombudsman on our behalf. The Energy Ombudsman ruled in our favour and ordered that E.ON Next rebill the account.
Once this had been rebilled, the balance reduced by almost £20,000 which has massively helped my business. We wouldn’t have been able to continue trading if we’d had to pay the full amount. I knew it was wrong but I couldn’t prove it. This outcome wouldn’t have been possible without Nationwide Energy Consultants, and Nicole in particular who identified the error and then argued it with E.ON Next and then the Ombudsman to get the right outcome, I can’t thank her enough.
