Office Renovation Week 4: Main Office Space Takes Shape

Week four focuses on the main office space, with layout planning, cable installation, and desk positioning beginning to bring the workspace to life.
As week four of the renovation begins, attention has shifted to the heart of the building, the main office area.

At the start of the week, the space was assessed to plan the layout carefully, considering desk placement, circulation, and overall functionality. The airy nature of the office provides a flexible canvas, allowing us to design a workspace that is practical, efficient, and comfortable for the team.

From this space, there is also a clear view of the Centenary Business Centre where Nationwide Energy Consultants was based between 2004 and 2007. Seeing this from the new office along with our current office that has been home from 2007 to 2026 provides an inspiring reminder of how the business has grown, from a much smaller workspace to a significantly larger, two-storey office environment.
Installing Cable Centres and Desk Layouts
One of the first visible steps this week was the installation of cable centres, the backbone of the office’s electrical and network infrastructure. These units provide centralised points for power, data, and communication lines, ensuring that the office will remain organised and efficient as it comes to life.

Alongside this, the initial layout of desks and workstations has begun. Planning desk placement at this stage ensures that space is used effectively, supports collaboration, and provides clear pathways for staff movement throughout the office.
Considering Layout and Cable Management
As the installation of cable centres and office layout begins to take shape, attention naturally turns to how these decisions will impact the overall efficiency of the workspace.

A well-planned office layout is not just about organisation; it also plays a role in energy efficiency and day-to-day operations. Positioning desks and equipment effectively can reduce the need for excessive lighting and minimise unnecessary use of electrical outlets.

Proper cable management is equally important. Keeping systems organised helps prevent overheating, reduces strain on equipment, and ensures everything operates safely and efficiently. Over time, this can contribute to more controlled energy usage across the office.
These early decisions will form the foundation of a workspace that is both practical and efficient for long-term use.
Looking Ahead
With the main office area now taking shape, week four marks a significant step forward in the renovation journey.
From initial planning to the installation of cable centres and desk layouts, the space is beginning to transition from an empty shell to a functional working environment.
There is still more to come as work continues to progress, and we look forward to sharing the next update as the office continues to transform. Stay tuned for the next renovation update.
