After many years of dedicated service, we announce the retirement of our Operations Director, Gerry O'Hara.
Gerry joined the business on 14 August 2008 and has been a key part of the company’s journey ever since. Over the years, he has played an important role in supporting the company’s development, helping to shape operations and contribute to its continued growth.
Throughout his time with the business, Gerry has been known for his commitment, experience, and steady leadership. His contribution has been valued across the organisation, and he has been a respected figure among colleagues and partners alike.
A Message from Gerry
"Reflecting on 18 years at Nationwide Energy, I am incredibly proud of how far we’ve come. We didn't just grow a business, we built a reputation for customer focus and choosing long-term success over short-term wins.
The hardest trials, the pandemic and global energy crisis, proved our worth, turning challenges into deeper partnerships. I take particular pride in our work with the UK’s leading breweries and pub groups, a legacy I know will flourish under our exceptional management team. With investments in our new headquarters and state-of-the-art technology, Nationwide is perfectly positioned for its next great chapter."
A Lasting Impact
Gerry’s time with the business has left a lasting impact across several key areas.
He joined the company during a period of rapid growth, where an entrepreneurial mindset and strong ambition were driving the business forward. During this time, he played an important role in strengthening internal systems and processes, helping to bring greater consistency, structure, and efficiency to day-to-day operations.
One of his greatest achievements has been introducing and developing relationships with major partners, including Star, Admiral, and Stonegate. By working closely with these organisations, Gerry helped the business better understand partner needs while also bringing new opportunities on board.
These improvements and partnerships have contributed to building a more robust and scalable business. By enabling the team to maximise results and operate more effectively, Gerry has helped position the company for continued success in the years ahead.
Looking Back and Moving Forward
Gerry’s retirement marks the end of a significant chapter for the business. His contribution over the years has helped shape both the structure and direction of the company as it stands today.
While we will certainly miss his day-to-day involvement, we wish Gerry all the very best in his retirement and thank him for his years of service and dedication.
